Laurent Bruyere

If you are a perfume lover, you may have heard of the book Formules Secrètes d’un Parfumeur paying homage to Laurent Bruyère. This book written by Soraya Bouvier Feder tells us about her journey, her works, her inspiration and her disillusions. He gives us anecdotes about this extraordinary perfumer who left too early in 2008, thus joining a perfumed paradise.

Who was Laurent Bruyère?

Laurent Bruyère was a self-taught perfumer. He started working at Charabot, a Grasse creation house where he learned everything. Very soon he emerged as a passionate perfumer and a hard worker. He then joined the great IFF house, giant of perfumery, soaking up the precious advice of Dominique Ropion. Later he moved to Mane where he became a senior perfumer before finishing his work at Robertet. In fact, he confided that it was these meetings that had determined his passion: those with Loris Azzaro, Anne-Marie Saget, Jean-Paul Guerlain’s assistant, with Jean-Paul Guérin himself, or even with Marie. -Rose, her favorite laboratory assistant at Charabot. Recognition of the profession vis-à-vis Laurent Bruyère

Today, Laurent Bruyère is no more. He died in 2008, at the age of 43, leaving behind a colossal work stitched together with multiple successes, many of which were developed in collaboration with the talented Dominique Ropion.
