What does cherry perfume smell like?

My Washington these days smells of cherries. A real pleasure, I know! The markets are full of fruits and so colorful, and around the city, you can find cherry trees planted with love, reminding me of the sweetness of childhood and carefree times. I remember that we joyfully awaited the cherries in spring that my grandmother chose, always picking the ones with the best-looking fruits on the tiny pedicels and putting them on our ears, like earrings. Later, we ate them, relished them, and chose the new ones from the bowl for our fancy jewelry game. We felt older, fancy. How fun! I wonder how many of today’s kids do the same thing?

Everything You Need to Know About Cherry Perfume

I enjoy cherries’ smells and colors these days: from white ones streaked with reddish, bright red to those juicy, fleshy red; I choose them all for my children and want to pass on at least part of my childhood to them. We all know how cherries are healthy and fertile; they are a good source of minerals and vitamins, especially vitamins A and C (the cherry fruit contains the largest amount of vitamin C among fruits with a center pit), folic acid, calcium, magnesium, iron, and zinc.

They are low in calories, and one of the fruit with the lowest glycemic index, promoting the expulsion of water from the body. They are also rich in antioxidants, significantly reducing the symptoms of asthma and allergies. Known for their powerful anti-inflammatory effects, they raise our energy level and make us feel better. Precious are plant pigments in the cherry fruit that strengthen connective tissue and slow the formation of wrinkles. And there are even more health benefits!

Tart Cherry Extract: A Simple Remedy

It is no coincidence that since ancient times, cherry pedicels have been used to prepare teas that help remove kidney and urinary problems. They positively impact bone health and density and reduce joint pain. In folk medicine, almost all parts of the cherry tree are used: bark and the resin, leaves, stems, seeds, and juicy fruits. Cherries are a natural remedy, but we can also enjoy their taste, sweetness, and irresistible scent.

At the beginning of spring, I long for the romantic scent of cherry blossom until my favorite time of year comes with red fruits and cherries that are irresistibly delicious and fragrant. Depending on the species, cherry fruits mature in May, June, and July. I love the freshness and sweetness of refined, delicate flowers, while the scent of cherry fruit is a special treat; its light, characteristic sweetness, and pleasantly heady aroma are associated with peace of mind and a sense of happiness. Slightly greenish, sparkling, juicy, sweet, and discreetly sour, the cherry perfume possesses a certain sophistication.

What does a cherry blossom smell like?

The scent of cherries varies depending on the species, but the sour cherry scent is more bitter, harsher, greener, and almondy. The scent of cherry blossom is popular in perfumery. It refines several perfume compositions, especially those that celebrate the coming of spring, but the smell of the fruit isn’t seen as often. Those fragrances can be singled out as excellent fruit editions or well “framed” in the composition.

My goal here is to draw attention to cherry fruit aromas (and sour cherry also) that are increasingly popular among recent editions and note the trendy gourmet compositions offering a specific twist with a cherry “on top.” Personal favorites (which are no longer on the market) are Miss Dior Cherie EDP 2005 edition (sweet cherry, popcorn, wild strawberry, caramel, patchouli), Delices Cartier EDP (cherry with tonka bean, amber, and pink pepper) as well as lovely and youthful Les Belles de Ricci Cherry Fantasy by Nina Ricci (cherry with raspberry, red fruit, and cherry blossoms).

Among the newer ones, some fabulous creations will satisfy the true lovers’ taste for ripe cherry scents in perfumes. I will share with you my experiences. Love at first sniff (and second, and each subsequent encounter) was my experience with Una Tira I Altraof Hilde Soliani, a most impressive, realistic view of cherry fruit. At the same time, it is a sweet and sophisticated gourmet, mildly watery, extremely intense, and overwhelming in its intoxication. The intensity of the smell is fantastic, sustaining its captivatingly cheerful character.

    Premium quality cherry fragrances

Many people I know are amazed at first sniff, especially those who ignore fruit scents, classifying them as “not serious” aromas. Although my favorite among all the cherries is Una Tira I Altra, I have to mention more of Hilde’s creations: Doolciiisssimo-Cherry with an indulgent twist that Hilde connects with tobacco and vanilla, making it soft and extremely seductive to the senses; and Bambolina is an excellent recommendation for those who want the fruits and flowers of Cherry cushioned in the warmth and softness of musk, and sweetness of apricot and dried fruit. Hilde does well with fruit. You already knew that. 🙂 Charriol Imperial Rubycontains cherry, which is bonbon-like, combined with the sweet aroma of watermelon, while warm musk surrounds it with a soft, subtle warmth. L’Occitane had favored cherry blossom notes for years until the release of Cerisier Rouge Eau Intense in 2014 when the scent of cherry fruit took the final word.

The fragrance is more intense than the other editions of the collection dedicated to cherries, sweetened and enriched with the rich juices of raspberries and cranberries. “Wild Cherry” by Mancera from last year holds my attention so well. Its composition on my skin “works better” than Guerlain’s La Petite Robe Noir; the theme is the same, but I prefer Mancera because it better matches my skin chemistry. Wild Cherry has an extremely intense cherry smell, fruity, jam-like, and powdery, with a lot of heliotropes, balsamic nuances, intoxicating vanilla, and orris. Shortly after the success of Wild Cherry, Montale launched Intense Cherry, which offers natural cherry aromas, lighter and not in an oriental manner. Jasmine gives the cold airy effect of fruity notes, while sandalwood caresses with its creamy lactonic shades without aggression; cherry here still plays a major role.

    What perfumes smell like Cherry?

A fascinating cherry fragrance belongs to the collection Map Of The Heart, where the thick aroma of cherries is combined with accords of black ink and spicy and gourmand licorice, which both give depth, a sticky effect, and a specific darkness to the composition. Purple Heart V5 is its name. I’m impressed with the fragrance and flacon. It’s different and so addictive. I have to mention Bvlgari’s Le Gemme Collection with its luxurious Amarena, inspired by the gemstone tourmaline. Cherry fruit here is blended with heady tuberose and rose, cooling them with pomegranate juice in a sophisticated manner. Masaki Matsushima was inspired by blooming cherries and traditional Sakura festivals with his cherry from 2007, designed to emphasize the richness of the fruit, the freshness of the cherry petals and leaves, and the buds of sour black currant.

    Sour cherries in designer perfumes

Although I prioritize cherries, it is impossible not to mention sour cherries because they have been increasingly used in designer perfumes in the last few years. Guerlain scored with La Petite Robe Noir, a line marvelously showing the beauty of the fruit in different ways, and I cannot wait for the new Black Perfecto done in a “rock” manner, blending sour cherry with dark leather and gourmand almonds. Edgy and addictive! In the last few years, many attractive cherries have been on the market. Lolita Lempicka has launched a fragrance, Sweet, that shares the vibe of cherry-cocoa lipgloss (followed by a Sweet edition).

At the same time, Escada celebrates cherries with Cherry In The Air, continuing their fruity spirit in fragrances. Vera Wang also has a sour cherry in Princess Revolution; Fendi launches L’Aquarossa L’Elixir, while Clinique enriches their Aromatics line with a fruity version named Aromatics Black Cherry. Estee Lauder introduced us to the Modern Muse Le Rouge Gloss in 2016 with the vinyl-plastic cherry and the plush leathery rose.

I’m sure this year, the newest editions in the fragrant sky, almond-cherry Prada Candy Gloss, and creamy praline-cherry Valentino Valentina Blush(besides the already mentioned Black Perfecto) will pick up all the glory in the cherry theme. So, how to resist? One thing is certain, no one today can say that there are no cherry (and sour cherry) fragrances on the market, no cherry-themed scents to seduce us well and be a great accompanist all year round. Gourmands have received a new twist, and they have been done so well that they are, in many cases, not childish at all. Marvelous editions are present and launched, and I know what’s on my list of wishes.
